Welcome Post

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Iwona and I am a current student at the DMU International University. I am writing this blog to show you my inspirations during my course, which is three years program in English and Spanish Language.

Frank Bernard Dicksee, Romeo and Juliet, 1884 an oil painting on canvas

I'll start with my favorite painting, which is a Frank Bernard Dicksee creation. It portrays two lovers from William Shakespeare's tragedy "Romeo and Juliet." The most renowned love story in English literature is "Romeo and Juliet." Love is, of course, the most dominant and important theme. The drama focuses on romantic love, notably the strong desire that develops between Romeo and Juliette at first sight. Romeo and Juliet is a picture by Victorian artist Frank Dicksee depicting the famous Shakespearean couple kissing on Juliet's balcony. As the sun rises behind them, the couple is surrounded by lush vegetation and vibrant flowers.

The Portfolio periodic states that: "we have in it the ideal love of two beings ideally beautiful, ideally passionate, and ideally faithful - "roses" by any other word would smell as sweet as ours imaginations have raised for us, through our love of Shakespeare, an ideal which no painter could satisfy, we may find in Mr. Dicksee's handsome and manly young Romeo, and in his refined and tender Juliet, beings lovely and sensitive enough to have been the subjects of absorbing passion to each other and of infinite regret to those who witnessed its terrible end" (Monkhouse, 1885)

For me, that picture is so beautiful, full of love, passion, and depth. Due to the fact that I am a zodiacal bull, believe it or not, love and passion are the leitmotifs in my life.

Also, I live in the heart of the wonderful city of Leicester where I can find many inspirations. Especially I like to make images of nature. Here you can see some of my pictures of The Montfort University and surrounding areas.

Final Thoughts

As my last semester comes to a close, I would like to share my thoughts. The two main things I worked on were an essay and a media project. ...
